Learners provid evidence of mastery when assessments demonstrate the application and transfer of essential knowledge and skills. We may also assess mastery of transferable skills, which are also referred to as “essential skills and dispositions”. Evidence may be derived from a variety of types of assessments that enable learners to demonstrate what they know and are able to do.

Competency Systems 's achievement tracking component is based on data from the Observations/Measurements Functions as well as supporting the inclusion of data from verifiable electronic records of a person’ s achievements or qualifications from organizations outside of the school setting, in order to get a complete picture of learner competencies aligned to the performance criteria, which are rigorous, common expectations for learning (knowledge, skills, and dispositions).
